Description:

On a regular basis, we clinicians are charged with the task of identifying appropriate bathroom equipment for our clients. As they progress in establishing a daily self care routine, we play a key role in assisting and advocating for our clients’ health, independence, safety and dignity with selection of showering and toileting equipment.

Where should we start? What should we consider? What are the equipment options out there? Do equipment options change along the way between initial mobilization and discharge? Are we assuring clients’ knowledge, performance and satisfactions are optimized with return for follow-up? How and where can we do better in our decision-making regarding selection of adaptive bathroom equipment and education of those we serve?

Learning objectives:

Upon attending this seminar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify critical components of a thorough evaluation of clients’ adaptive bathroom equipment needs
  • Select appropriate bathroom equipment options with consideration of outcomes of clients’ postural evaluations
  • Select appropriate bathroom equipment options with consideration of outcomes of clients’ functional assessments

  1. To complete the online post test and evaluation, go to the RST CE homepage at: http://www.rstce.pitt.edu
  2. Select the button that says post tests and evaluations.
  3. Log into the RST CE database and select post test and evaluations. (using the email address and password that you created prior to the viewing).
  4. Select and complete the course post test and evaluation.
  5. Click Submit

You will receive your CEU Certificate via emailed pdf.
